The Flowerbed, the Dark Blooms 

A dense plot of black, deep red, purple, and dusk-pink blooms on a dark base of its own — a garden built around color held in shadow, not stems waiting for a vase.
Inspired by gothic florals and the idea of a bed that never needs tending, the design brings together mixed blooms in one arrangement. Roses, dahlias, and poppies sit as a single plot rather than a handful of cut stems, so the piece reads as ground, not as something to hold.
It is a small gothic garden that feels less like decoration and more like a bed left out on purpose — a scene with its own weather, waiting to be looked at.

Design Details

Every element is built to create density — dark blooms layered against a black base, mixed forms so the bed reads as a plot rather than a single flower.
The base is part of the piece, not an afterthought. Nothing else is required to hold it up, giving the finished arrangement the presence of a small gothic centerpiece.

In the Room

Designed as a display piece for a desk, bookshelf, cabinet, or side table. Let it sit among books, candles, and other dark objects, or give it its own space where the reds and purples can carry.
By day the deep colors read first; after dark the black base holds the shape. It brings the feeling of a finished flowerbed into the room — even when there is no garden outside.

The Build

A longer build: about 5–7 hours, easily split over more than one night. Stop when you want; the next session starts where you left the bags. The time in your hands is the point as much as the finished piece.
